Dan,
Those boards quite obviously come from the deadly poisonous Brazilian Iquiqui tree. Please ship them to me immediately for proper hazmat disposal.

Yes it is Makore, or African Cherry.
Jim, the guy I know who imports this stuff has some pretty wide boards, like 16-20" stuff. (I know you are always looking for nice WIDE lumber) Hopefully he will have more in a month.

I have Sapele that looks like three of the boards (ones on the left), I don't think it's Makore, I have quite a bit of Makore in the shop including figured Makore, the grain and color aren't the same as what I have. That board on the far right kind of throws a ringer into the guess.

Hey Dan.
The name of the guy that imports this stuff wouldn't happen to be Brian would it? I picked up a hundred of so bf. of African Mohogany and some Utile...incredible stuff.
Thanks,
Robert

It looks like Hondouras Mahogony to me , the African is more apt to have ribbons.

Dan, does the fact that the name of the JPEG is makeore2.jpg have anything to do with the ID???
