Red maple burl named "eye of the storm" b/c I think it looks like swirling storm clouds. Measures 13 3/4" x 2 3/4" and 3/8 thick. Finished in tung oil. Comments/ critigues welcome.

Good form, great wood. The name is perfect for this piece. A name that really fits (like this one does) is a valuable sales tool for those pieces that are for sale.

The name fits. It reminds me of the overheads for hurricanes.

Thanks for the comments everyone. I have been doing quite a few pieces that are uneven edged with bark incl. I wear a face sheild from start to finish but no hand protection. No gloves ever when running equipment. Never had anything hit my hand but I have been smashed in the face a few times, thank god I wear a face sheild.
