I bought a blank of spalted redlace maple intending to use it for turkey calls but it was just too punky and I didn't want to pay to have it stabilized. I used a chunk of it to turn this stopper yesterday, "stabilizing" it with thin, thick, and gel CA glue as I went.

Critiques definitely welcomed and encouraged!

I just noticed that I can see my reflection in the metal part of the stopper. Gotta work on that!

Aaron that is really nice looking. When you speak of stabalizing are you doing that on the lathe? Do you just put the glue on and let it dry and then turn some more? Is the lathe turning while applying the ca? Any help for a newbie would be appreciated.

Good looking stopper Aaron. Some folks would object to the pointy top as making it more difficult to shove into/onto the bottle. Others would not.
