Well Fellers; I finally got a digital camera. Thought I would upload
pics of a couple yard/garage/flea finds. Actually, I purchased a digital
camera some time back but was unable to get the battery compartment
door open, so I took it back the next day. Turns out I am not the only person to experience that problem with that camera.
I got the Craftsman jointer plane (22" & corrugated sole and sides) and
the Greenlee slick or framer chisel for $15 at a garage sale. One reason I am unsure of exact type of the chisel is that the previous owner rehandled the piece.
The chisels in the other pic were bought on a Sat. and I went back on Sunday of same weekend to a local flea when I got the rust off of the skew chisel on the right. Incomplete stamp but appears to be Witherby/Winstead. The paring chisel also had partial stamp under the rust.
I think it is T. Butch(er). The handle on the paring chisel was beat down like a circus tent peg so I turned a new handle out of maple for it and bedded it into socket with my old friend J.B. Weld. $1 each.
