I'm sure that this has been brought to the Forum's attention before but I just came across it and thought it was ingenious. Now if I only could find the time to make one.

I'd have thought that play in the drawer slides would be an issue. Perhaps the weight of the machine preloads the slides to remove the play?

He smushed them in the vise to get the play out of the slides.

That machine will give David Mark's multirouter and run for its money. And a heck of a lot cheaper.

That is amazing, his box joint jig is the best Ive ever seen!! Makes me wonder though if a more advanced computer could do the moves automatically. Like timed or something. The motor moves, waits 4-5 seconds for you to make the cut then moves to the next location.
Awesome stuff though!!

Very impressive. It is very similar to the MultiRouter that Marks uses, though I must confess, I like the idea of moving the router a bit more than moving the workpiece. I don't know why, but it seems easier. I also really like the lever that he uses to control the X and Y axes.

Yes, that is brilliant.
It's nice to see someone applying that kind of creativity and thought into Woodworking tools.

They had something like that in either Shop Notes or Woodsmith. I want to build one someday.

Some tool company needs to hire this guy and quick so he can make his jigs out of qaulity metals and get them on the market. I know I would buy them!:D
