Those of you that have a Lie-Nielson plane. Could describe the back of the chipbreaker "lip". Does the ground portion go all the way the end? In other words the "top" Or is it just ground at the point were it meets the the blade. The part I'm referring to in portion circled in red. I'm make my own chipbreakers.

I'm not exactly sure what your question is, but there is a small lip and that is the part that actually touches the iron. The lip is probably less than 1mm and it is ground at a slight angle to that there is no gap between the lip and the iron down where they meet closest to the cutting edge.

The LN chipbreaker is nearly squared-off at the blade end. I used to think this was odd until I spent some time reading this site by Steve Elliott:

This should have all the information you need about blade-chipbreaker interaction.
