Measures 6 x 4 1/2 with a shellawax finish. The little knob is blackwood. Thanks for having a look.

Really pretty, Mike. I have turned a few of these face grain covered dishes and while they are fun to do I have had movement is almost all of them. I haven't turned Cedar and wonder if it will move like some of the others. My wood has been quite dry, <12% but there still is movement. Your piece is beautiful.

Mike - you just have to love all that color! Very nice work! Must have made the shop smell great! Your finish of choice seems to have worked well as the color still looks natural! Thanks for posting!

Oh - I checked out your gallery! Beautiful work Mike!

Mike,

I believe it's been noted several times but you really do have an eye for form. Your turning skills are equally good also, as are your photography skills.

Added together, it just means that everything you post here is spectacular and that Cedar lidded bowl is no exception. Thanks for showing and nudging the bar a little higher. :)

That is a really beautiful piece, love the wood and love the shape, the finial works nicely too, great job. You really got this finial thing down.

would be intersting to know down the road how that lid works out with humidity & dryness fluctuations...nice bowl shape

Mike, You have been busy lately and producing some very nice "Flat top" pieces. I like the looks and the soft lustre of the finish is perfect for the red cedar! Thanks for sharing and keep on a spinning!
