The new Craft Supplies catalog with one of my Giraffe pieces on the front cover has brought me some new orders. I'm makin' smoke. This one is 6 inches in dia.

Wally - congrats again on the cover and also on the resulting sales!

You sure have the touch when it comes to hollow forms! Love the form, detail work and the raised collar! Always a pleasure to see your work! Thanks for sharing!

Great! Like it so much I will try and copy it. But will never match the master!

Wally,

I love this giraffe, just as I did the others.

Question: In addition to bringing new customers, did the cover photo raise your prices? (Hope so.)

Wally,
Knew it was yours at first glance. The edges of your spots look very smooth and sharp. Which pen do you use for that? Mine tend to be pretty lumpy and bumpy.

Richard, I outline them with a fine skew. Then use the finest ball pen for the first row.

Thanks Wally. Probably my skew (pen) is too big and my skill is too small. Will just have to try harder. Sometimes that makes a difference.

Another exceptional piece, Wally! When I got the new catalog, I knew it was yours on the cover (I think I may have seen it before?). I love to see your turnings, and read your posts. You are the one woodturner I would most like to meet someday. Wish I could get to some of the turnfests out in Arizona. I'd like to pick your brain for about 6 weeks or so. :)
You must have the patience of Job, and some pretty steady hands, to do so well at this. Beautiful form, too. Congratulations for doing so well on both pieces!

Thanks Allen for your kind words. You are on my list for web friends that I'd like to meet in person some day.

I'm fortunate that for an old guy I do have steady hands. Otherwise the piercing and pyrography would be more difficult than it is.
