Locust Burl Bowl....

Because of the worm holes in the sapwood of this piece I cut the walls very thin to give it a sort of lacey look. 6 inches in dia. Comments?

I love the bowl/vase. The natural edge and worm holes contrast well with the elegant form. Glancing at the thumbnail, I thought I'd dislike the "clunky" foot. Well, the foot's not clunky; it's elegant refined. It sets the tone for the rest of the piece, creating an expectation of thinness and lightness. Very well done.

I don't know...It was given to me as a locust burl. Locust isn't a wood that I've had much experience with.
