Skott, that looks like a fantastic shop. It looks like a great space to work. I sure wish that I had those wood floors and all your cabinets in my new shop.

What a nice shop. I could enjoy just sitting out there and reading or watching TV when not working. That must be a joy to work in.

Great looking shop. I would recommend a fridge, a barca-lounger, and a tv next.

skott,
OHHHHhhhhh, that's a beautiful turning shop. Robust lathe looks new also.
You need to make some curlies......
What size is it? ...perhaps 20' square?
Do you have another shop for flatwork, or is this all of it? What are you doing for wood storage and drying areas?
(And my favorite part of it is the wood burning stove, how nice they are.)

Just made a windsor stool for the shop. I don't do flat work at this time but do have a pole barn next to the shop for storage and an old rockwell model 10 table saw. I have been blessed. I did try to create a space that would be very inviting and have it's own beauty. More of a studio inspired by the North House Folk School in Grand Marais , MN

I'd venture a guess maybe 24'x30' ?

Great looking shop Skott......as you've found out already, SMC's software only allows 5 pics per post.....

....No problem though! Just keep postin' pics of you well designed shop! ;) (we like pics...)

The only problem that I see is that there isn't enough room for my tools when I move in!:D

hi skott
as all the others have said... great shop. I really like it when woodworkers also spend the time to make their shop a piece of art. your's is really great looking, especially the wood floors. did you build it and design it or is this something that you just stumbled upon?

best wishes
Lou

a "you suck" response.

Nice shop. My Irish ancestry is coming out, as I am Kelly green with envy.

Since your all done maybe you could build me one like it. Thats way too pretty to mess up and work in, I could live in it. It would be a good place to sit by the fire and think about work. I can only dream about being so organized.

That does it, I want ash floors. Want and get are two different things, but it is a good starting point.

Lou

I did build it and design it with lot's of ideas gathered from Sawmill Creek. The ash was cut locally and vacuum kiln dried and finished with Waterlox. I like the finish particularly because you can repair it or touch up without having to resand but it has been several months and it still is off gasing and is prerry stink yet but now that good weather is here I can open up and ventilate.
