My son is planning on building a few Kegorators for himself and some friends. He has asked me to turn some custom tap handles. He thought he saw a kit in one of my catalogs but I can't find it. I'm not having much luck googling info on this. Anybody done this or know where I can get more info?

Just measure the diameter and turn them custom. Then you can add details with epoxy and some beer labels. If he makes his own beer then you can make customer tap handles. just a nice spindle is all it is.

Thanks,
My main concern though is how do they attach to the tap.........it has been far too many years since my fraternity keg raiding days.

there should be a screw on the tap that it threads onto.

I'm not 100% certain if 3/8"-16 UNC is an industry standard, but it appears that way.

Northern Brewer sells the inserts that you will need for your custom taps.

There is also video on youtube I think of a guy turning his own. If I find it I'll post it.

3/8"-16 is what the one I fixed was too. Turn the handle and insert a brass inert (http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?familyid=1048&ProductID=12J20) into the end.
