using halftone question

when using halftones how do you know what screen type (square , round , line,cross ,fixed 4x4 or fixed 8x8 and what about with the settings for degrees. The setting right now is 45 degrees. This seems to be my never ending journey on engraving on black marble and have it come white. Im using a epilog mini 45w with cdx3....thanks again:rolleyes:

I just let the Epilog driver do it.

instead of a line screen, I would use diffusion dither set to the output resolution. This generates a random pattern that will help prevent moire.

Search SMC for "gold method". You'll find quite a bit of information.

This is what the driver looks like on the TT But you can't use it on the lasersketch stuff, 'that' needs photograv, or the gold method of photo manipulation to a 1 bit file.. But you can use it on real marble..
