We are traveling to KC this weekend to see the Royals get beat by the Rangers Saturday night and I was looking for interesting places to go/see in KC Saturday afternoon. Like maybe a good WW store or maybe a tour of a fellow SMCer's shop. I will only have a couple of hours in the afternoon, but I would rather do something a little more interesting than sitting around the pool at the hotel. Also, is there anything good to eat in KC? :D Maybe somewhere close to the ball park?

Thanks

The Negro League BAseball Museum is cool at 18th and Vine. One block west is the Peachtree Restaurant- pricy, but excellent- 5 minutes and 4 blocks away is Arthur Bryants BBQ Restaurant--featured nationally--It's a dive, but the food is incredible--go hungry--Every President in the last 40 years has eaten there. I think it's at 20th and Brooklyn. Both are less than 20 minutes from the stadium if yo know where you're going. OR, you can get a great steak at the Hereford House at 20th and Main.. or Lidia's for Italian--1 block from the Hereford House at 101 West 22nd. OR, there are two Stroud's Restaurants--long waits-no reservations--very, very good pan-fried chicken. Go early. I could go on and on--(I like to eat).If you get there early on Saturday, go to the Farmers' Market at 5th and Grand --You'll see all kinds...

If you're into it, there are several Casinos within 15 minutes of the ballpark--probably would recommend Ameristar--all have restaurants.

There is one Woodcrafters's store, but it's miles away---30 minute drive into Kansas . Paxton's has a store, but it's hard to get to because of construction--would probably want to call for directions. Have fun. Go Chiefs. Larry

Thanks Larry,
I looked on the support forum under your "timing of response" thread, but only found your question about timing of response and a few answers to that. I did however find your answer to my question in this thread. I have already printed it and have it packed away in my wallet for easy access while on the trip. I think we are planning on the BBQ place. It will give me something to compare against the BBQ at Terry's place in Springdale next month. Are you planning on going? Is there another post from you somewhere with even more good info?
