I know the creek has the answer to this silly question. Is there a way to remove the back (pedestal and backer board) from the back of a mirrored frame so it can be engraved without tearing the backer board from the tape. That is some sticky tape. Thanks Ron

That sounds like it will take experimenting. How about a heat gun.

Alcahol will release most adhesive but it can damage some plastics and finishes. If your miror is glass (not plastic) it may be ok. However I strongly advise caution in using any chemicals of any material that your not sure of.

Could you not just carefully go around it with a parcel knife and re-tape over the existing when you have finished engraving.
Just a thought.
Dave.

Could you laser through the existing baker and apply a new one over the top when finished?

You can buy replacement easels from JDS pretty cheaply. Not worth spending a lot of time trying to save the back. I'd be more concerned with damaging the mirror in the removal process.
Heat would be worth a try.
