Engraving Tinplates

has anyone engraved tinplates with the laser ? I would think using Thermark will work :confused:

I tried a piece of tin once, just to see, but the result was very poor.

I don't know how thick the average tinplate is, but if it's too thin the Cermark/Thermark marking process is probably going to put too much heat into the substrate and warp it.

I engraved a bunch of tin cups using the lmm2000 it worked pretty good but the lmm14 would have worked better.
