.....And allowed me to find another super deal on a tool!!! :D (this is a gloat by the way.....)

Last Thursday, the wife and I were returning home after doing a little running around and shopping (SWMBO loves to go to Hobby Lobby! ) and getting a bite to eat (Jumbo Roast Beef/All Fries - YUM!!)....anyways....on the backroads back to the house (short-cut) we passed a house with a nice enclosed trailer and some other item/equipment on the front lawn for sale (YARD SALE!!!)...........

.........Well my wife knows I can't refuse a yard sale!! ;) So she just rolled her eyes as I turned around to go back and check out the goodies!

Turns out the guy was selling a lot of antiques inside the house and a few tool from his shop!.....Well that was all he had to say!....I made a bee line for the garage/shop in the rear.......

Long story short.....I noticed a sander in the corner (partially covered with garage junk) when I uncovered it I saw a dusty Jet JSG-96 (6"x48"belt-9"disc) with no tables. I asked if he had the rest of the parts and he said "yes"
He explained that he only ever used the belt (9" disc wasn't even installed)

He located the still sealed bag with the two tables and other parts and I then asked him "How Much?"

(this is the good part!! :p) He said: "$200"...... Now, me being a cheap...er,I mean...frugle person, I instinctively said: "Will you take $150?" :o To which he said: "Howzabout $170?".................

..........Well, we settled/agreed on............$160  :D ;)

I was shaking like a leaf as we loaded in the back of my wife's car (we weren't in my truck and there was no way I was going to leave it there and come back later!!!)

I was up until 1 a.m. installing/waxing the tables and adjusting everything.
The pictures don't show it but this sander looks like it was just taken out of the box.....used very little....the tables still had the cosmoline on them!!
He gave me six barely used 6"x48" belts - one 24 grit, three 36 grit, one 60 grit, and one 80 grit.

These 2 pics were taken the night I put it together (still has the 24 grit belt on!) I also installed some wheels I had around the shop

These pics were taken (this afternoon) after I hooked up the dust collection, put on the 80 grit belt, and built a shelf under it to stabilize/square up the base....

In it's new spot....waiting to be used!! ;)

I'm a VERY HAPPY camper.......Thanks for letting me share!

Thanks for the comments guys......I was in the Woodcraft store this afternoon and saw the very same sander (without my be-u-tee-full lower shelf of course!) for $629.95!

I just turned away and smiled!

What I should have done was turned to my wife and said: "See how much money I saved on this sander honey!.....does this mean I have $469.95 to spend on another tool?"..........

.........but I didn't push my luck! :o:D;)

If you can go to a Woodcraft with your wife, you've got all kinds of lucky going on.

Mine would rather drop me off and do some "real" shopping.
