Just purchased a PC 890 for an extra router table I have to help reduce bit changes. With a centering bit installed I am getting .012 runout about 1" out from the collet. I exchanged it and am only getting slightly better. Feels terrible with a flush trim bit (vibration) and I'm sure the router wouldn't last long. It's going back. I hate to use this forum for whining and complaining, but geeze...It seems like everything I buy lately is defective.

If it happened in 2 of them, I would take a good look at the bit.

The bit used to measure is a centering bit (just a blank shank used to center the base for bushings), besides, I tried the flush trim bit as well, and it works just fine in my hand held router.

Over at cnczone.com, there has been a number of complaints about runout with porter Cable routers made in Mexico.
