I recently purchased the Wagner HVLP conversion gun. I have a 4HP 15 gal. compressor. I have only sprayed dye and laquar with it but would like to spray latex paint on some cabinets that I am now building. I have read that I would need to thin the latex using a 5 3 1 rato of paint, water and floetrol. I only have the #3 tip that came with the gun, do I need to also purchase the #4 tip which I understand is slightly bigger to spray the latex? Does anyone have any other advice for this novice spray painter.

Yes, you'll want the larger projector set for the paint, but be careful with the thinning...water bornes don't like thinning very much. If you are spraying paint for woodworking projects, consider using a tintable acrylic that's designed for spraying, such as Target Coatings EM6000 or one of Fuhr International's products. They spray beautifully with your stock #3 projector set with no thinning necessary.
