I've been busy with things other than turning but did complete this box. It is segmented leopardwood and Ebony. There are 98 pieces plus veneers and the ebony finial. The foot is ebony with the same veneers as the top. Measures 3-1/2" dia. x 6-1/4" overall height. Finished with antique oil and buffed. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Beautifully done Keith! Very nice color contrast between the woods! Joinery has to be close to perfect as I can not see any joints at all! Nice form - really like the small rise where the top and finial meet! Your black finial gives everything a delicate and classy look!

As always, beautiful work! Thanks for sharing!

Keith........another very elegant Burns! Nicely done. The activity of the leopardwood is nicely balanced by the simplicity of the ebony. Great finish..gorgeous wood....nice contrast between the woods and the form is fantastic.

I've been busy with things other than turning.

Keith, Wonderful turning!

I know the feeling of being to busy to turn.
I have 7 bowl blanks ready to go if I could only find the time to finish them.

Keith,
That is an outstanding piece. Beautiful!! One question, what's the wall thickness. From the pic it looks really thin. But then I thought it was a much larger piece until I read the dimensions. That finial design is quickly becoming your trademark.

Thanks again for the comments.

Brian the walls are about 1/8" if I remember correctly.

Bill, that made me laugh, thanks.

Dewey, thats for the comments and especially on the article.

In case anybody is interested, this box is ine the EOG Auction at the AAW Symposium. Wish I could be there but I can't.
