I have seen stock for turning pens at Woodcraft and on-line at several sites. Is there a place that you know of that sells the stock in long lengths , say 14"? I have an idea for a different item and the pen blanks are perfect except for length.

Are you talking wood or acrylic???

If you have a table saw or band saw, you can buy boards in any species you want, and cut them yourself. In the long run if you make even a few of the 14" blanks, you will be saving money.

I agree with Brian. I get like 1 X 4 cherry, walnut, maple, ash, and mahogany. I cut my own pen blanks into 1 X 1 pieces. Also use some it to make finials.

Way cheaper to make your own. Now if you need the hole drilled in a long skinny blank thats another story!!

If it's acrylic you are looking for, this place sells 40" lengths.

If you want exotic wood without having to buy a whole board, you might try over at IAP (Internationoal Association of Penturners), and check out some of the sellers there.
