View Full Version : Spalted Maple Pot - critiques/comments welcome

I turned this a few months ago, don't think I posted it. Anyway, this pot is about 8 inches tall, 4 inches wide and is about 1/4" thick. I'm pretty sure it's maple, but whatever wood it is I sure like the spalting; hope you do, too. I hollowed this one blind, before I got my Jamieson system. Mike

Mike - sure is some great looking wood! Interesting form! The undercut rim must have been a challenge! Nice work on the finish!

Rusty, if I can remember correctly, it's been a while...I probably used a combination of my Crown PM 5/8" fingernail gouge to start, and when that would not reach any farther under, my Sorby Hollowmaster with the round cutter. Yeah, that sounds familiar - they are a good combination for this sort of thing, for me. Thanks for looking, Mike
