I just recently bought some extruded aluminum and have put together a sliding fence system and need to make a fence for it. Now i have a router table connected to my table saw and want to share the fence. Why couldnt I make the fence just like a router table fence with the adjustable hole in the middle and use it on the tablesaw too?

I have seen people clamp or just use 2 different fences, but im wondering why arnt people just using a router fence? Am I going to have problems if i build a fence that has a hole in it for router operations too?

Thanks,
Dave

My RT extension is on the left of my left tilt saw. I don't share a fence so that I can use the router table and the table saw without having to dismount the fence or lower/raise the blade to get by. My TS/RT top is sized so that I can do most operations on one while the other is setup.
