I have been working on a project for aboput four years now and one of the parts is a 1/2" birch plywood panel about 12" X 55". The panel has been veneered on both sides in a vacuum press with bird's eye maple.

The panel has warped slightly in the long direction. Not bad but enough to matter. What is the best way to straighten it out?

Depending on what you are using it for can it simply be pulled into shape by the structure it is attached to? Sometimes you can overbend in the opposite direction for a few days and get some straightening but it may not be permanent. Good luck with it. It is a pretty valuable piece and I hope you can make it useable.
