I haven't had a chance to even turn my lathe on for about a month, so I can't begin to say how good it felt to finally get to turn something. This is sort of an eggplant shaped lidded jar that I plan to use to hold teabags. I got this wood from Vaughn McMillan, it's Ironbark Eucalyptus, and it's some of the nicest wood I've turned. It's about 11.5" tall, 5" dia. and finished with Antique Oil and buffed. The lid is one piece matching the jar.

Nice piece Curt. The wood is beautiful and I like the form and the lid. Great Job. Does the wood smell like eucalyptus?

That's really nice curt. I like the inclusions and the grain. The one piece top is great. It complements the whole piece. Thanks for posting this.
