Blower motor explosion

So SWMBO calls me up the other day saying the AC in her car made a horrible noise like an animal caught in the fan blades and then died. I open up the dash and find that the blower had pretty much exploded. It carries a suprising amount of kinetic energy. It even cracked the mount in the dash and broke a temperature sensor's mount/frame that was nearby inside. Had to fish around for a while to make sure I got all the pieces out. It was a new/used motor that replaced her old one when it died for unknown reasons. I guess it was just too old and too brittle to handle high speed. I did find snow in it when I pulled it out of the junk yard...
Of course I snapped a picture which is why I am posting here, thought it was pretty cool.
