How important from a safety and performance view point is it to use blades labeled as radial arm saw or compound miter saw on said equipment. In other words can an old blade purchased for a table saw be used on a miter saw, and can a blade labeled for RAS and/or CMS be used on a table saw.
Thanks,
Stan

Some can and some can't.
The wrong hook can grab the material and throw it. You need a blade witrh a negative hook angle.

You'll want to look a bit closer than the marketing label. An obvious difference blades have is the different tooth count. Beyond that there are tooth shapes, hook angles and other parameters that contribute to a best fit for your tool and purpose. Here's (http://www.freudtools.com/images/PDF/SB-Sel-Chart-2008.pdf) a basic starting point.
