This is a bowl I finished a couple of weeks ago. It is gum finished with mineral oil and bees wax. 2-3/4" X 8-1/2"

Looks like another winner Eugene! Great form! Looks like you filled in the cracks in the knot - what did you use for a filler as it matches the wood really nice?

Nice bowl with nice grain and inclusions. I have not used mineral oil and bees wax before but have seen Richard Raffan use it in his videos. How do you like it and does it hold up well?

Thanks for the comments.

Steve, I used black flexible CA to fill the cracks. It seems to work well on small cracks and can withstand shock better than regular CA.

Jim, there is not much to my method of finishing bowls. I just sand to 400 then use bees wax and mineral oil. after that I buff with a white hand towel. That leaves a soft satin finish that I like. I learned this from a Richard Raffan video. I like his videos. I wish I could use a skew like he can. When I try that the skew lands on one side of the shop and the wood I was turning often lands on the other.

Thaks again for the comments
