cast acrylic engraving error

anyone have any suggestions as to how I can remove unwanted laser engraved errors from a trophy made of cast acrylic?

If your time has value then buy a new piece. If it is a shallow mark you may be able to use fine sandpaper and finer sandpaper them coarse and successively finer polishing compounds. Probably not worth the time.

I am sadly convinced that when you work for yourself, your time has very little value...additionally the acrylic piece is not mine and is a perpetual award (hahaha) (which I prefer over LOL)

You may have done this but it is my practice on a new piece of acrylic to run a test on transfer paper. That allows for a final proofing plus making sure the positioning is right.

I run lots of practice tests on tape, scraps, etc. I also use a vectored box with the lid open to confirm that I am engraving in the exact & correct location before engraving the raster image.

It doesn't help if you forget to hit the "Next File" button when you go to engrave!!:confused: :( :mad:

It's too late for your piece, but I often use a piece of 1/8" acrylic for alignment. I set it on the piece to be engraved, focus to it, engrave and adjust the piece if necessary. It allows me to see the piece where using tape doesn't.
