adjusting fence on Bosch 4000 TS

I am having a lot of trouble adjusting the fence square on my Bosch 4000. In the past, I just lined it up with the blade, as indicated in the instructions. But I recently got a dial gauge and have been trying to set it up with a little more precision. I can't seem to get the fence to square up consistently---it always seems to want to run .010-.030 out of square.

I used to have a Bosch 4000... I never messed with the fence alignment myself on this particular saw. But see the link below for the manual for the 4100 (the procedure should be the same for the fence on the 4000)

the fence on the bosch 4000(4100) is the weakest part of an otherwise great tool. it's sad to see that ridgid's new portable table saw has adopted an equally rackable fence unlike the larger ridgid portable table saw.

I was afraid that might be the answer. Guess I'll just have to keep measuring from the front and back of blade.
