Since I am just starting turning and would like to make a bowl from start to finish. So that means using dry wood which means laminating woods together to make the blank. Are there any good articles or Utube vids out there that show this process?

There's a good article in the latest (Summer 2009) issue of Woodturning Design. It's an intriguing idea that uses scrap construction wood. Should be available in any bookstore.

I know there is an article over on Woodturning Online about making a segmented bowl. The instructions will be similar. I also seem to remember that there's also a couple of articles on making a bowl out of one board over there. If not, a Google search it may turn up.

Jim McPhail makes a wonderful layered bowl which is essentially what you're talking about. He was featured in the AAW magazine a couple years ago. But a perusal of his website will give you tons of ideas.

if you're gluing pieces together that are the same size just glue it like you would a panel or a block of wood. maybe use titebond 3 if water will be around it often

Here is a tutorial for the "Stacked ring lamination" (http://forum.canadianwoodworking.com/showthread.php?t=18252) process.

Art of Segmented Woodturning is a good book. I haven't done any segmented work, but it seems to cover a lot.

Malcolm Tibbetts also released a set of videos, "Lessons in Segmented Turning". The first project is how to turn a bowl from a single board.

As mentioned, the book, The art of Segmented Woodturning by Malcolm Tibbetts is a great place to start. The Bowl from a Board technique has been around for a while, but Malcolm takes to to a high level in his book. I've made a few and they are a lot of fun to do. See attachment.

I was at the Half Price Book store yesterday and ran across an older book by WOOD magazine pertainig to lathe projects and it has several good laminated bowl projects that I will most likely try whenever my darn 1220 arrives from Woodcraft.
