Anyone own the JET 3hp 18" saw? Opinions??

I still have my eye on the Grizzly 0513X2 but found the above JET at a good price $1349 ,Street price $1599 (New triangular frame). Grizzly $995. 17" 2HP.

JET= Little bigger saw, 1 hp extra, Buy local, no shipping to deal with

Grizzly= Save $350, TONS of happy owners.

I own one and could not be happier, I have used the Grizzly and there are some neat differences, but the Jet has been an amazing saw and I would highly recommend it to anyone who will listen.

Wait a second :) - If Dave wants a 3 H.P., then the real comparison should be made with the G0514X2 - the one that has the rack and pinion table support.

I LOVE my 513x2, but...... at that price I might be inclined to go with the Jet for the reasons you gave. Both are nice saws and you couldn't go wrong with either. I thought I heard the 513x2 is on backorder. That might be something you would want to call about.

check with grizzly out of 4 tools I wanted all 4 were back ordered it might make the decision much easier

Just checked and here is the update of stock:

G0513X2 - we have stock in WA and the other two locations are supposed to get theirs in 3 weeks (already on the sea).

G0514X2 - in stock at all locations.

An with service like that from the man himself, it's hard not to choose Grizzly.

Like I said My eye is on the Grizzly. The back order does not bother me. I would have it delivered to work and need to hold off for 3 weeks or so till it slows down a bit. I run a retail garden center and we are in the thick of it right now.

Shiraz is right. If I am going to spend that much then the bigger Grizzly should be looked at. But the 513x2 is all the saw(and more) than I need.
