Ok here is my latest.

Zircote Blank, 2 coats of ca, then 4 coats with a coat of Blo between each one.

Working on a matching pencil to go with it..

Dennis - that is a good looking pen but I would like to suggest that you enlarge your photos to 800x600 pixels, 107 kb max file size - so we can really see the beauty of the wood! Nice work! Hope the pencil turns out as nice!

Notice I have to work on my finish sanding a little more and still not getting right down to the bushings, arg..

Am curious what coats of BLO between coats of CA do for the finish. This seems counterintuitive.

Am curious what coats of BLO between coats of CA do for the finish. This seems counterintuitive.

I dont really know yet, other then one of the how to's i read mentioned he did that. I have noticed on the ones I have done that to, I get a higher gloss then the first few pens I did without it.

Also I only sand between the first couple coats of CA, after that I just ca/blow repeat, seems to be building up a slightly brighter gloss on them.

BUT I dont know yet, as those are only my 11 and 12th pens
