I just assembled my DC and powered it up. I have two questions 1.There seems to be a good amount of airflow coming from the bottom of the black motor, is this normal? 2.When powering off as the motor spins down it makes a slight clicking noise till it stops, is this normal? Thanks for the help…. Pat.

I believe the motor is fan cooled, which explains the airflow that you are feeling there. As for the clicking, I had the same sound... thought it was weird, but everything worked OK, so I forgot about it. Now it doesn't do it anymore. Maybe something is "breaking in"??

The clicking is your centrifugal switch returning to the "stationary" position ... it's normal. The centrifugal switch is there to disconnect the start capacitor once the motor's up to speed.
