Glider woes solution????

I posted a couple of days ago. In short, built a cedar glider with runners. Runners are catching , twisting the swing, etc. I had the bright (?) idea of putting a plastic laminate on the runner surfaces, and the runner guides? Anyone think this would work? Also the swing support hangers are wooden with lag bolts through them. Any suggestions for lubrication? Thanks in advance for any help. I plan to post pics soon!
