Anyone ever try to 'de-ebonize' wood? I used the vinegar and steel wool solution on some cherry & walnut, don't like the result. Help! Mike :mad:

If you mean bleach, try Oxalic acid.

Todd, I don't mean bleach - I mean whatever will work to de-ebonize wood, preferably leaving it's natural, original color, if anything will (other than the sanding that I've already started). Thanks, Mike

Oxalic acid is going to be your best bet without sanding or turning
