This one is oak, walnut, and osage orange. The osage bottom is end-grain, so there are not cross grain joints. Just one coat of lacquer so far. Comments welcome.

Richard that is a beauty. Really like the woods and form.

Hi Richard,

Nice bowl, what are its measurements?
I would suggest using "Salad bowl finish (http://www.woodcraft.com/family.aspx?FamilyID=752&refcode=05INFROO)" it's non-toxic.

Thanks guys. Was wondering if anyone was going to buy it. It's for very small salads. Made from left overs from a couple other things.

Good one!
It looked kind of small.
No need to change the finish... lol

Think I left the walls a little too thick, which hurts the credibility. But the photo lacks depth of field, which is pretty common with a "large" bowl. My sweetie actually did laugh out loud when she saw my "salad bowl", which made it well worth the effort for me.

RIchard you have too much time on your hands, and not enough wood....lol That is nice. I am sure you spent some time cutting and glueing

Looks good, joints are tight and the finish is great for one coat!!

Nice work! Probably a real good market for this kind of turning if sold as doll house furniture!

That is one of the largest quarters that I have ever seen!;)

Richard, I have made about 1500 minis so far and I love to make them! I sell just about every one I make or my wife puts them in her ever growing collection! Every once in a while (like every other day) I have to get rid of all the little hunks I am saving for minis. I have a bir red rolling tool box that is full of little pieces of wood for them, people think I am nuts!!

Very nice little bowl!
Jeff
