This box is 11 1/2 inches long 6 inches deep and 3 inches high. I used Purple Heart and Maple for the wood. The bottom inside is lined with leather. The sides are attached with mortise and tenon. I finished the box with Formby"s Tung Oil Finish.

That's a nice box you got there. Is it for something specific, I noticed that the compartments we're pretty uniform. The two woods contrast well together. Once again, Nice work

Beautiful box. Can you explain how you did the leather insert?

The box was just to see if I ould make it. The leather was made to fit the bottom by measuring the top then cutting the leather to fit.

The box in question was made from a box by Andrew Bucann. I did my interpretation of his box.

I like to make boxes and I like to see other peoples boxes. I have about five people that will be recieving boxes as Christmas presants this year. May be they will get two.
