Measures 14 1/2" by 9" and 3/8" thick. Finish is tung oil. This was a small slice from a very large burl. This piece was destined for the wood stove but I decided to give it new life. Comments/ critigues welcome.

Adam: I like the contrasting shapes of the oval and the circular bowl section. I have been thinking about different shapes lately too, but I haven't had enough time on the lathe to work any of my thoughts out in wood yet. Nice piece. - Mark

Adam, That is one beautiful piece of firewood! It catches the light so well and the shape is awesome! Just goes to prove that some of the stuff that should be junk is priceless!

Thanks Leo,
I forget that on this forum that there are people from areas that might not have the trees we do at home. Yellow Birch it is.
