I just finished my wife's present for our 17th anniversary. A Pen & Pencil set with pen box. (thanks Dennis P. & others for advice on the box). The pens are slimlines from Woodcraft and the wood is Mesquite. The pen box is made from wavy maple scrounged from a local cabinet shop.

I thought the little knot on th epencil really adds character.

Thanks for looking!

Thanks,

Dennis, thanks for the tip about the cove bit, I still need some practice on the router table using and setting it up - but it worked SWEET! Next box I make, I am going to try using barrel hinges.

I am also going to experiment with a couple different box styles as well.

I like the way you made the box. Simple sometimes is the way to go.

Hey, it really looks great. If I made that and gave it to my wife for her anniversary I would be sleeping in the shop.

I gave it to my wife and she is thrilled with it.

She has never been the expensive jewelry type (lucky me!) and she really likes woodworking herself - last year I bought her a scrollsaw for her anniversary. She has taken the set to work and has placed it on her desk and plans to use the pen & pencil everyday, she says that each time she writes with it, she'll think of me (how sweet). Anyway - as long as she likes it is all that matters to me.

Now maybe I can get some more TOYLS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A new 14" Bandsaw, perhaps?
