I found the font I was looking for that I need for a logo,,,,,it's the Glaser Stencil font. But I don't feel like paying $25 for this one logo.

Is there a way to find a similar font.....that's free?

Steve

As I recall that font came with one of the program I installed years ago. Probably a Microsoft program of some sort. It's possible that it was on a version of Corel. Anyway search your computer and your discs it's probably there.

You can also easily make most fonts stencil fonts by just adding a small white bridge at strategic locations.

In the example the other font is Century Gothic. With just a few modifications you can make your logo.

Anthing close would work.

I know Mike.....I've done that alot lately! I was hoping to avoid doing it that way if I could find a generic font that was close.

Thanks!!!

I really recommend you search all your cd's as it is probably there.

Just pop 'em into the pc and let Font Navigator do the work.

Mike,

I installed all the fonts that came with x4......but it's not there. I'll just do the white box thing.

Joe, that's a great site.....but there's no way to search them.....and I'm not going to scroll through 6500 fonts!!!!!!! Thanks though.

Use your web browser to do a search/find on that page for "Stencil" and you'll quickly find a dozen of them.

It's an easy mater to use Font Navigator to search the font files on any programs you've installed. Even if it were 6500 fonts it would take only 2 minutes.

If you need this for a logo, I would charge the customer the $20 fee to purchase that font online or call it a set-up fee to make their logo.

You're looking for something for free, but that will take some work on your part. You can search for that font name and include "clone" or "looks like" in your search criteria and you may find various web sites that list your font and their font clones. You can also go to indentifont.com and type the font you need and "search by similarity" to display fonts that have a similar look.

You can also ask if someone will be kind enough to type the text you need and convert it to curves for you.
