One on the shortcomings on the JFM-5 is the hold down. There isn't any. I improved the holding of the workpiece by gluing sandpaper to the backboard and the vise jaw clamp but still had a little problem with the workpiece staying put when using larger mortiser bits. So I made an improvement. See Pix.
