I have an Epilog Legend 36EXT.

I have a client who needs a piece of granite engraved,
it weighs in at 80lbs.

Is that too much weight for the engraving table?

Thanks,

Marty

Not sure on that model, but I recall someone (Maybe Peck) saying that the limit for a Helix, 18" x 24" was around 50 lbs. That EXT is a beefy machine,so I'm sure it's a little more (unless they use the same motor).

Either way, make sure you focus before you lay that bad boy on the table!

Hi Marty,

Not sure, but if it were me, I would use a block of wood the same thickness as the marble to focus on, then cut 3 or 4 lengths of wood to fit tight between the under side of the table and the machine bottom. Move the table up, slip in the blocks then lower it back to the blocks. Position the marble on the table.

I have an Epilog Legend 36 ext 75w and recently called tech support on this very issue. He said that the machine can hold up to 25 lbs or 30lbs dead weight meaning not moving the table up and down and already focused.

Once you get it in, and set up, and if it's that heavy, you may have a problem getting it out! Those polished sides are tough to grip, even to get you fingers underneath.. A big suction cup would work wonders.. :D

I just did a 2" x 14" x 9" and that was heavy enough!
