9 1/4" x 9 1/2" - Teak Oil - not buffed yet but I plan to after the finish cures. Second lidded bowl and second finial.

Really nice.
I love how the woods go together and how the top transitions into the finial.

Very pretty piece and good photo Toney! Is that the true color of bubinga these days? The stuff I bought maybe 25 years ago was more pink, less red. Was yours more "pinkish" before finishing? Just curious.

Very classy looking Toney! Very interesting form with wonderful color! This one really grabs your attention! Very nice!

PS - it's nice when you get to that point where you no longer worry about 'how do I cut this?' and 'what tool do I use?' and just relax and create the piece! Very impressive! Looking forward to seeing more!

Amazing. That is a very beautiful bowl. Describing it in this manner seems ridiculous. Flawless seems more appropriate.

That looks really nice. The wood is fantastic, and goes together great.
The only thing I might change is the finial. The transition from lid to finial is good, but the abrupt change into the bulb kinda throws off the line. I think I would have made it more of a curve - but that is just me :p- and a real nit pick. Great piece!

First, I want to tell everyone thank you for the nice comments.

Richard, the bubinga was pretty red right from the start. The finish just made it darker.

Rick, I have to confess that my original intent was to bring the bubinga to more of a point and then have the blackwood take off from there but I guessed wrong on the interior profile and what you see is what I came up with.
