Little pine cones, cast in polyester resin. Turned and sanded to 1500 and Beall buffed.
Kinda fun!http://i216.photobucket.com/albums/cc274/rabbitearscarver/Pine-Cone.jpg

Nice little pendant. Are the pine cones exposed where the hole goes through or do you seal it back up some way?

I could be wrong, but I'm thinking they are suspended in the resin, in a mold and allowed to cure that way.

It sounds as if you are suggesting he sticks the tiny pine cones inside the ring, perhaps with tiny tweezers, pours in the liquid and then seals up the tiny hole. :)

Dave, I have a special place for pine cones in my heart too! I have made lots of miniatures and some toothpick holders out of larger ones. You just never know what will turn out from them. Your pendant is very nice, I love the idea and its completed form is perfect!

Great job!

Jeff

Thanks all for the kind words..

The whole thing is cast in resin, so it's solid through and through.

Tip on polyester type?
The resin I use is Silmar 41.
