My 3520b finally arrived this week. Picture attached is the lathe waiting for two men younger/stronger than me to lift the bed and motor assembly up to the second floor of my shop. Well worth the $50.00.

I have three Oneway adapters with1 x 8 thread configuration from my old lathe that i need to retrofit/replace for the 3520b's 1-1/4 x 8 spindle size. Anyone think it would be possible to have a shop cut larger threads in these adapters? New adapters will run me $25 each + shipping. If so, what type of shop should I be looking for (?machine). Thanks for any advice.

I would just buy the oneway adapter and know that it will run true.
sell the 1" adapters here or on cragis list

Did you know that the motor and head assembly will slide off the bed, much easier to move. Ron

Those retaining pins that keep head and tail from sliding off are just threaded in......screw one out and the head slides right off.

If you are needing the adapters for your chucks, scrap the adapters, and get new inserts with the proper threading for the PM. They work a lot better than the adapters. If you need them for face plates, get new face plates. The adapters put the work out another 2 inches or so, which will give you some more run out, and for heavy turning, you will get more vibration.

Thanks. Lathe bed and headstock were moved as two separate pieces. Even apart, too heavy for me! I am talking about the threaded inserts. I have three # 0327 and if I need three of the Oneway # 0222. Thanks, Kieran

Just buy the right adapters (as mentioned, you could sell the old ones if you like). You would have to pay a machinist at least that much anyway (unless you can get a freebie), and they may not even run that true after you are done.

Thanks. Sounds like that is the way to go.

If you are looking to sell the 1x8 let me know I would be interested.

I would buy them and know they are right. I tried to have one made by a master machinest and it had run out to bad to use. He was going to charge me $30.

Thanks again to all. Gave the old ones to a friend in exchange for some metal work. New ones arrived today. Hopefully I will get some time to try this new lathe out!
