Do you mean carbide tipped or carbide grit? If you mean carbide tipped, search tri-master, woodmaster or resaw king and you will get numerous threads/opinions.

We put an MK Morse M-Factor 3/4"x.035"x3tpi in our 17" Bridgewood a year ago and we haven't looked back. Cleaner, faster cut, ZERO blade wandering, very long life. Yeah, it's a significant investment, but well worth it IMO.

I'm looking at blades too. Seems the woodmaster is the best bang for the buck.

Kevin why Morse? Did you you try any of the others?

The Woodslicer (http://www.highlandwoodworking.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWCATS&Category=295). Works great. Recommended.

I went with the Morse simply because it is the carbide tipped band stocked by our usual supplier - BC Saw. 3/4" x 132" x 3tpi was $143. I'm very impressed by the performance of this blade but when/if we need a replacement, I'll probably try a Woodmaster or Trimaster so that I can compare/contrast.

Jim, I use a 1" 2/3 tooth Lenox Trimaster on my old Oliver (check out my profile page for a photo of the beast), and it actually does such a good smooth job that a a little sanding or a quick plane pass, and you'd be ready for finish. I just used it today to size some purpleheart inlay. Needed to be .135" thick, and the Trimaster worked flawlessly.

I just ordered a Tri-master.. it will be my first carbide blade..

1" x 179" 3tpi cost $218.00 Cdn.. Seemed cheap compared to online..

It should be here this coming week.. will post thoughts.
