A customer asked me if I'd ever made any of these. I guess I'd considered it in the past, but gave up on it because (1) I don't have a CNC machine and (2) I found all of the normal hole-drilling methods insanely tedious.

But I got bored one day, and as luck would have it, I had a big pile of "Perzel Wood" over in the corner. It dawned on me that, as long as I used material that was thin enough, the laser could handle the "drilling". (Insert big "DUH!" here.) Here are the results:

(And if I ever start to make anything from padauk again, just shoot me before I get to the sanding/finishing stage.)

Lee if you don't mind me asking what are you using for your pins and where are you getting them? I like the brass look.

Lee if you don't mind me asking what are you using for your pins and where are you getting them? I like the brass look. They're "Columbia pegs", made (I think) by the Columbia Screw Company in Maine. The site www.petespegs.com (http://www.petespegs.com/) is by far the cheapest place to buy them in any decent quantity...I think he's the "factory outlet".

They come in brass, copper, aluminum, stainless, and black.

Very nice job. The inlays really add "class" to the boards.

Can you provide some details? - How did you get the holes so clean on the Acrilic?
Thanks
David

How did you get the holes so clean on the Acrilic?A hole is just another vector cut, the laser can't tell the difference.

(I had about a pint of "holes" by the time these were done. Threw them away though...just couldn't come up with anything cool to do with them.)

If you want to ever sell the clear one shoot me a PM, that would look great with a couple micro led's sunk in the sides!

I love cribbage!

I don't play cribbage, but a few of my mates do and they would kill for any one of those, nice job Lee.

Lee,

Would you mind sharing the Corel layout for these cribbage boards?

I have a few friends that would love one of these.

Numbers 1 & 2 attachments look amazing. The inlay work is very clean. Did you vacume press the 3 layers (it looks like 3 layers) that form the base?

Did you vacume press the 3 layers (it looks like 3 layers) that form the base?Nope, just six or eight spring clamps and thick CA glue.
