Transfer tape, which brand?

Hi all,

This was asked by someone else in the middle of a recent thread but I never saw an answer to it.

I want to get some transfer tape to protect wood while lasering.

I'd like to hear the good and the bad and where to buy.

fwiw, I usually buy mine from Johson Plastics. I like a medium tack as the light tack doesn't stick well enough. Instead of weeding I take a wet rag an rub off the small bits.

If you go to any of the NBM shows the various sign supply houses pass out enough samples there to last 6 months.

I have not noticed any big difference between brands, but if doing tiny, intricate details I prefer the medium tack too, for easier removal.

I just stopped by a random sign shop on my way home from work one day and asked for a roll... they traded me a roll for $20 in engraving services, something I have a feeling they'll never use, so essentially it was free.
