Our household vac was no longer useful inside. The on-off switch broke, the handle broke, the wheels were precarious - time to get a new one. But the thing still moved air just fine.

So I made a little dedicated dust collector for my sander. The vac is always on, plugs into a power strip that also turns on the light, and supplies power to the sander, which is still switchable.

Not sure yet how well it'll work, but it's off to a good start anyway. And one more item is NOT in the landfill.

Not too loud.

What did you say??

Actually, it's quieter than a shop vac.

Not needed, the power strip turns on the vac and the light when I want to use it.
