All,

My new Delta drill press spins in the wrong direction. There does not appear to be a switch to reverse directions do I assume the motor was wired incorrectly. Delta, of course, does not anser the phone on the weekend. Any ideas? Many thanks..... Dave.

Dave.....IIRC....the starting capacitor is what determines the direction of turning. When AC is 1st applied, the starting capacitor shifts the phase of the current to one lead and thus starts the motor turning in one direction. I'd look there first.

If the motor is reversible, there should be a schematic on the cover of the junction box where the power cord is wired in that shows how the leads should be connected for CW or CCW rotation.
